Sod Installation in Huntsville & Madison, AL
Skip the wait. Fresh sod on properly prepared ground gives you a finished, green lawn the day we leave.
Overview
Sod installation is laying rolls of mature, living grass over prepared soil to create an instant lawn. It is the fastest way to cover bare ground, replace a lawn that is too far gone to save, or finish a new-construction yard. Good results depend on the prep underneath, so we grade and loosen the soil before any sod goes down.
North Alabama note: New-construction lots around Huntsville and Madison are often left with compacted, scraped clay that sod struggles to root into. Preparing that soil first is what separates sod that thrives from sod that fails by its first summer.

Sod Installation: Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of sod do you install?
We match the sod to your yard's sun and how you use it. Bermuda and Zoysia are the most common choices for sunny lawns in our area, and we will recommend the best fit for your property during your estimate.
When is the best time to lay sod?
Warm-season sod such as Bermuda and Zoysia roots fastest from late spring through summer, when it is actively growing. It can be installed at other times of year, but it needs more patience and care to establish.
How long before I can use the new lawn?
Plan on keeping foot traffic light for the first two to three weeks while the roots knit into the soil, and watering on the schedule we give you. After the sod has rooted, it can be mowed and used like any lawn.
Can you sod just part of my yard?
Yes. We install full lawns as well as partial areas, such as a section damaged by construction, a washed-out slope, or a spot where grass never took. Smaller patches may be handled as a Seeding / Repairs job instead.
