Flower Bed Cleanup in Huntsville & Madison, AL
Beds cleared out, cut back, and edged, so they start the growing season clean and go into winter tidy.
Overview
A flower bed cleanup clears out what the last season left behind. We remove leaves and debris, cut back spent annuals, perennials, and ornamental grasses, pull weeds, and redo the bed edges. Most properties have it done twice a year, in late winter before new growth starts and in fall once summer plants are finished.
North Alabama note: Spring comes early around Huntsville, and beds can go from bare to overgrown in a few warm weeks. Winters are also mild enough that beds stay in view most of the year, so a cleanup at each end of the growing season keeps them looking kept.

Flower Bed Cleanup: Frequently Asked Questions
When is flower bed cleanup done?
Twice a year for most properties. The spring cleanup runs from late February through March around Huntsville, before new growth gets going and before mulch goes down. The fall cleanup runs from late October through December, once summer annuals are finished and perennials have started to die back.
Do I need both a spring and a fall cleanup?
Most beds do best with both, but either one can be booked by itself. The spring visit clears winter debris and sets the bed up for mulch and planting. The fall visit removes the season's dead growth, which gives pests and disease fewer places to overwinter and keeps beds presentable through the cold months.
Do you cut everything back?
No. We cut back what is finished for the season and leave what should stay. Some plants are pruned at other times of year, such as azaleas after they bloom. Shaping hedges and shrubs is handled through Hedge Trimming, and monkey grass, hydrangeas and lilies, and crepe myrtles each have a pruning service of their own.
Can you mulch or plant flowers at the same visit?
Often, yes. A cleaned and edged bed is ready for Mulch Installation or Pine Straw Installation. Cleanups also pair well with Annual Flower Installation, in spring after the last frost and in fall for cool-season color. We can plan all of it during your estimate.
